Professor Emeritus, University of Amsterdam

Peter Neijens graduated cum laude in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam and earned a PhD in Social Sciences from the Free University Amsterdam. He has held various academic leadership roles, including Professor and Chair in Media and Persuasion at the University of Amsterdam, Director of the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), Director of the Graduate School of Communication, and Director of SWOCC. He also served as Deputy Director of the Dutch Press Institute.
Peter was Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Public Opinion Research and President of the European Advertising Academy. He has served on numerous editorial and advisory boards at both national and international level, published widely in journals and books, and supervised many PhD candidates. He was also a visiting professor at several universities abroad, including the University of Michigan.
